In Buckle Up , Elliott and Kyle only just meet and as things are hotting up between them, Elliott is whipped off for a PR tour of Spain. He’s away for days and this is when the pair start to wonder about the strength of the connection between them.

A short story
I wrote this story because we have a very dear friend who has now passed. She suffered from early onset alzheimer’s, I worked regularly with her to give her reflexology and in those times I saw some deep emotions. All I had to offer back to her was my care, and to note down what she was feeling. That’s where this little story came from. I hope you like it as much as I do. It’s one of the first shorts that I wrote and it’s still my favorite, but that’s because it means so much.
“Come on love, swing your legs round towards me…”
My nail varnish catches my eye. It’s chipped. And blue. Horrid. Not something I would choose. It’s so tatty. I’d never let it get like this.
“Sweetheart, you need to get out of the car.” My husband gently tries to shift my legs. I recognise his voice although it has deepened with age, but mostly I recognise his smell. The same aftershave for as long as I’ve known him. I’ve never liked it. I don’t recognise how he looks, but then I don’t recognise myself anymore. Continue reading…
