As we enter a new decade, the popularity of gay romance books isn’t waning, so here we take a look at the best mm romance authors who are emerging in the coming year.
Firstly, let’s cover something off right off the bat. I am a woman and I write MM romance. There’s a lot of bashing about this right now, but honestly, I don’t care what they say. Readers love my gay romance books and the genre is blooming — so to speak! That’s the thing, you don’t have to be the right gender to write good romance novels. When we write any genre, not necessarily the romance genre, with a dual point of view (POV), it doesn’t mean that we’ve been out and murdered someone.
Think about some of the awful things I write about in my psychological thrillers!
That could be very worrying.
So, why are people getting so hung up about women writing m/m romance books? It doesn’t make much sense to me. And it doesn’t appear to make much to my wonderful readers either because they are happily reading through the Commitment series of gay romance novels.. downloading one after the other in fast succession to find out what Kyle and Elliot got up to next.
Now, this bring me back to my original point, who are the best mm romance authors of 2020?
I have to put myself at the top of that list of best mm romance authors for 2020. If I don’t believe in myself, then how can anyone else. And let’s face it, both Kyle and Elliott are adorable enough to earn their places at the top of the best mm romance novels list. So why shouldn’t I as their author?
But, let me disclose a secret here and now.
I have a plan for a ton of mm romance novels to come out from the middle of the year, and I can’t wait to get started writing them. They are all mapped out. The first of my new m/m romance novels in 2020 will be the second in the Promises series where we will follow the story of the burgeoning love story between Axel and Florian. Initially they started out as best friends, but it didn’t stay that way for to long. And now they are in a full blown lgbtq romance. As always though, there are issues along the way and any erotic romance wouldn’t be the same without a few kinks in their path to true happiness.
Also, because this series is a spin off from the ever popular Commitment 6 book series of best selling m/m romance books, we also get to find out more about the ongoing lives of the characters we know and love.
If you’re looking for the best m/m romance authors then you could do way worse than April Wilson and her Tyler Jamison character. This book has it all, hot men, obviously some gay mm and a whole host of romance titles to make your way through so you’re not left empty after reading the last page of a standalone.
Number 3 – m/m romance author JJ Harper
JJ Harper is another gay mm romance author who has a ton of books out there to guiltily (or not) make your way through over the course of a binge reading weekend. With stories of best friends love story, she is one of the bestselling authors on Amazon. No m/m romance binge would be complete without a read of one of her romance novels. I’m willing to bet you’ll end up plowing through the entire series as you fall in love with her popular male characters.
So that’s it. I know that this is all romantic fiction, but it’s important to find your favorite characters and stick with them as they are like warm friends who we connect with every time we pick up a novel and delve into the inner workings of their lgbt romances.
If you have a fave gay romance book, series or author that I’ve missed here, then don’t fail to let me know. I’d love to read some new authors too, I’m a bit of a geek like that, picking up as many books as I can.
And with that, here’s a question to finish on.
Are you into paranormal? Or m/m historical romance novels? Would you like to see some of your best authors writing in these genres? Would you like me to delve into this, perhaps an old style story of engagement between gay best friends in another era, or universe? Let me know your thoughts. I can’t wait to hear back from you.
